Central Hessian Transfer Centre
The Central Hessian Transfer Centre is a joint department of science and knowledge transfer, representing Justus-Liebig University of Giessen, the Giessen-Friedberg University of Applied Sciences and Philipps-University of Marburg. The Transfer Centre provides a constellation that is unique in Germany, with two universities and one university of applied sciences working together to promote basic research and application-oriented development in a variety of fields. The Transfer Centre also receives financial support from various central Hessian municipalities, county districts and chambers of commerce and trade. A special committee representing these institutions oversees and supports the Transfer Centre's activities. During its 10-plus years of existence, the Central Hessian Transfer Centre has continuously promoted and coordinated the transfer of knowledge. It offers assistance in the performance of such processes, if and when necessary, from beginning to end, providing a variety of services that serve to promote the co-operation between the providers of new technologies and their commercial consumers. The result is the intense and ongoing collaboration between university professors and corporations representing the greater majority of high-tech industries.
