About us

"Working together to improve Central Hesse"!

That's the motto of MitteHessen e. V., an association formed in 2003 to represent the general interests of Central Hesse. Our main objective is to further co-operation among the region's business, science and political sectors. MitteHessen e. V. aspires to promote the region's profile by way of special projects aimed at developing the fields of education, infrastructure and innovation. At present, the association comprises some 49 cities, county districts, chambers, universities and corporations. Chaired by the district president, MitteHessen e. V. bundles the resources and expertise of its members in an effort to achieve its various objectives.

Central Hesse is made up the administrative district of Giessen, comprising the County Districts of Giessen, Limburg-Weilburg, Marburg-Biedenkopf as well as the Lahn-Dill and Vogelsberg Districts.

To achieve its goals, the association actively supports and promotes the further development and constant improvement of the region's overall infrastructures, which include the promotion of regional infrastructure plans, the development of business, education, science and culture and the promotion of the trade show and tourism sectors. Organising and providing sponsorships and subsidies for regional projects, co-financed by national and international programmes, and the implementation of regional marketing measures round of the association's spectrum of activities. We address all those parties interested in promoting our region's strengths, its image and its identity.
